《Pregnant and Betrayed by the Alpha》

I was nine months pregnant, expecting to deliver my baby in a week when I received a receipt from ‘Heavenly Resorts’ the biggest hotel in the city with a small note.

‘Hope you and your mate had an amazing night.’ My mate and husband of seven years, Alexander Newman, has been frequenting the place where we spent our first night with his mistress for the past two years.

The first time was the day I lost my child unexpectedly two years ago.

Just that moment an anonymous message on my phone read out:

“His one true love who can produce an heir for the pack unlike an infertile luna.”

Along with the message multiple photos and two videos were attached.

I was numb, tears streaming down my eyes as I clicked on one of them.

“You are the only one I love. I will leave Serena and marry you.” 

I closed my eyes to the recorded confession of my mate.

I blocked his number, severing the last tie between us, determined to start fresh and find my own path.

Days later, I heard from mutual friends that Alexander was frantically searching for me, sending messages I had never received. [Serena , I’m sorry. Please come back to me.]

Numerous messages popped up one after another.

“I hope you know the truth now.”

“I am Alexander’s woman.”

“All those nights he was out for so-called pack’s surveillance were all spent in my bed.”

“He said that he is with you for an heir.”

“This is my Facebook account, filled with our loving pictures. Even on the day of your wedding anniversary your husband was with me.”

I clicked on the link to the Facebook page which opened with a myriad of intimate photos between a couple.

The latest photo displayed Tiffiany sitting on a man’s lap.

It was captioned as:

[23rd of January, the day when he first saw me two years ago and it was love at first sight.]

23rd January was my birthday.

I laughed with tears threatening to fall down my eyes.

I scrolled down only to find a pattern in all the photos- Alpha Alexander’s face wasn’t visible in any of them yet even with a look I could decipher his identity, after all I was the one who bought him those expensive watches as a collection.

I was going through the photos with teary eyes when my hands stopped abruptly.

There was a photo of a woman embracing a male while showing off her diamond ring. The background was decorated with flowers, with firecrackers bursting in the sky.

The caption made my blood turn cold.

A year ago, I had an accident and was in danger. The baby in my belly was in danger.

I remember calling Alexander multiple times, but he never picked up. When I messaged him that I was in the hospital, he at last called me irritably and said that I should stop playing tricks to attract his attention and hung up.

I remember watching the lifeless corpse of my child being taken out to be discarded and was in such a deep shock that I could not get out of bed for more than two months.

When I received another message from Tiffiany, my heart was crushed beyond comprehension.

A picture of ultrasound along with a doctor's prescription from the hospital was attached as an image along with a one liner text.

[I am pregnant with Alexander’s child.]

Clutching my heart that was so trampled upon by my childhood sweetheart and mate, I gasped for air as I could hardly breathe.

Like a manic I rushed to my mate’s wardrobe and searched frantically for his wallet, where he had always kept our couple photo, surprisingly it wasn’t there anymore and was replaced by the photo of another woman.

It could not be denied anymore that my mate openly cheated on me when I already had so much evidence.

I opened one of the attached videos and my mate’s loving voice for his mistress was the first thing I heard.

‘Are you…are you pregnant?’ Alexander glanced at Tiffany in elation and when she nodded, he picked her up.

‘I will divorce Serena as soon as she gives birth to a son for me, only then we can have a happy family! I will finally have two heirs!”

I could not believe the words at first and had to replay the video multiple times to let the reality sink.

While I was still sitting on the ground hugging myself the front door opened, and Alexander was finally home.

“Serena” He called out to me a few times before frowning and turning on the lights. When I was nowhere to be found on the first floor, he entered our bedroom upstairs only to see me sitting silently in a dark corner with tears in my eyes.

“Serena? Are you alright?”

When he held my shoulders trying to make me get up from the floor, I had a strong urge to push him away.

“Now that you can give birth any day, can you stop being so careless, why didn’t you turn on the lights? What if you stumbled-”

"Where were you till now?" Taken aback by my straight question, Alexander quickly made up an excuse.

“Baby, I was with the beta discussing our pack’s border issue.”

“Really? My friend told me that she saw you on the riverside today buying some hot chocolate.” 

Alexander went pale for a moment before collecting himself.

“So what? I cannot eat something that I like now? And why are you stalking me?!” the guilt in his eyes was evident, he was there all day with Tiffany fooling around.

“I just asked because I want to have hot chocolate too.” I wanted to see how far he would go with his lies.

Feeling frustrated he finally snapped.

“Why are you so demanding all the time! I am just home from an entire day of tiring work. If you want to have something, then ask the maids to make it for you.”

Without waiting for my response, he turned around with a scowl.

“How can you be the perfect luna when you are so stubborn.”

When he was out of sight, I clutched my stomach painfully and cried.

“My poor baby, your daddy has abandoned both of us, but mommy will take care of you.”

Chapter 2

Alexander's phone buzzed and when I saw the caller ID, it was almost disgusting how stupid he thought I was to never question him even when he saved his mistress’s name as ‘My love’ on his phone.

I swiped the phone and was surprised to see it was unlocked with the screensaver being an ultrasound image of a woman’s womb.

If Tiffiany hadn’t sent me this same image earlier, I would have mistaken it as my own and would have never questioned Alexander.

I checked the contents of the messages sent between.

[Alexander: Baby, I have heard that pregnant women love sour food so I have asked my beta to send me various sour delicacies, I will bring them to you later.]

[Tiffany: Alex, um won’t your beta be suspicious…]

[Alexander: What suspicion? He would just assume it is for Serena.]

[Tiffany: So, would you give her half of the delicacies too? I thought you only loved me.]

[Alexander: Of course not, she is really a picky eater and wasting my efforts on her is fruitless. You are my one and only true love.

I would have divorced Serena, but she fell into depression making others sympathize with her a lot, she was just too dependent on me and leaving her then would have portrayed you in a bad light, so I had not abandoned her yet.]

[Tiffany: You are the best Alex, but I am lonely right now and am craving some pastries.]

[Alexander: Alright, I will bring them to you.]

I bit my lip trying to hold in the sobs threatening to break free. My children never meant anything to Alexander other than being his heirs like a paving stone for Alexander in becoming the strongest alpha.

I quickly took screenshots of the message conversations and to my utter surprise there was an attached document sent to Tiffany.

‘Riverside Maxim Villa.’ My entire being was full of rage when I realized that the property I received in dowry from my parents was given to Tiffany.

Earlier Alexander had said that the pack was encountering some financial problems and if I sold my property it would be of great help, I followed his words and foolishly let him take control of my property.

At last, it ended in the hands of his mistress.

My body quivered and as if sensing my discomfort my baby kicked restlessly.

I clicked screenshots of the messages and collected evidence from other shopping websites which were filled with luxurious orders delivered to my mansion that was now being occupied by Tiffany.

I then slowly kept the phone at its designated place and laid down on the bed with a duvet over me to stop Alexander’s view of my shaking body as I sobbed with my voice muffled.

Soon Alexander’s footsteps echoed as he entered the room and picked up his phone, smiling softly as he read Tiffany's messages.

Moments passed and he sat beside me with his palm slowly caressing my belly.

"Baby, I and Beta Anderson have decided to check on the rival wolf today. I will not be back for till tommorow."

When he stood up to leave I held onto his arm desperately with little strength left in me.

“I have been waiting for you the entire day, c-can you not be with me just for today.” I wanted to deny that my childhood love, my mate, ever cheated on me. I wanted to forget it like a nightmare and try again for the sake of my child.

Alexander looked at my broken eyes and noticed tears streaming down my face making him gently swipe them in guilt.

He could not even look at me.

“I..What is it baby-“ Just then a notification beeped on his phone and his face changed.

"Darling, I cannot put you above the pack, please understand. I will call your mother to come and look after you."

When he did not receive a reply, he looked at my face only to see me looking at him like he was a stranger.

“Serena-“

“Go then.” Even the last chance that I gave him was discarded like trash.

I turned around without another word, making him freeze for moments before he decided to leave.

Soon I dragged myself out of the house and booked a taxi to follow Alexander.

"To Riverside Maxim Villa" I told the driver.

When we parked outside the mansion, Alexander’s car was already there. I saw my mate look around like he was afraid of being caught before he pressed the doorbell.

I caressed my stomach that churned painfully, making me gasp before taking out the camera as I taped the incident where the door of the villa opened, and a female rushed into Alexander’s arms.

My eyes became blurry with unshed tears as I saw my mate lovingly kneeling before his mistress as he kissed her belly.

The pain in my womb intensified but I simply sat in the car without the ability to speak a word due to the shock.

Soon Alexander took Tiffiany out, tucking her with the seatbelt and a chorus of feminine laughter could be heard from outside.

I gasped when I felt that my pain intensified yet instead of panicking, I took deep breaths.

“Sir, can you please take me to the hospital where they are going?” The driver looked at me and quickly sped up and even helped me inside.

“Madam, having a child is really a precious thing and being happy and healthy is much better than being with someone who is so shameless as to abandon such a kind wife as you.

Please take care of yourself and don’t focus on negative things.” The driver was old and seemed to have seen many seasons thus when he reassured me, I nodded feeling thankful.

Yes, I must live for my child.

“Don't worry sir, that man is already nothing to me. Soon I will break away from him completely.”

Chapter 3

I stood there in the shadows watching as my husband lovingly held his mistress and took her to the hospital for a prenatal checkup.

Two years ago, when I lost a baby, the doctor told me that it was not due to my poor health but rather due to my husband’s negligence who did not bring me to the hospital on time when my water broke, making my child suffocate to death.

Even after that catastrophe my mate did not bother to bring me to any of the checkups this time as well citing his duties with the pack.

‘Stop whining like a weakling! Can’t you do something productive for once!

You are Silver Moon Pack’s Luna, so for God’s sake stop being selfish! I must take care of my pack as well, ask your mother to take you to the doctor.’

This was what he had said to me when I begged him to accompany me, yet here he was looking so concerned as he collected medications for his mistress.

I realized it wasn't that he was too busy.

It was just that I was never his priority, he had long abandoned me in his heart.

Since the hospital was crowded, Alexander held Tiffiany close to him before speaking.

“Baby, about the sour delicacies I brought…they have been a day old so don’t eat them anymore.” 

Tiffany laughed when Alexander fussed over her health.

“Just a day old so what? They are perfectly fine Alex!”

“No, what if it harmed your health? Come I will buy you your favorite hot chocolate, it's getting really cold baby.”

"This time I will compromise but you have to promise me that we will have a lot of sour delicacies at our wedding.”

"Anything you say baby, our wedding would be the most lavish one in all the neighboring packs, just wait a month more, when Serena delivers, I will find some excuse to send her away in the name of recuperating.

I will make you the most envied luna of the Silver Moon Pack."

"If you say so." She pouted, making him kiss her.

I froze at the words, I could almost hear my heart shattering, it was ironic how they resembled the loving couple that I and Alexander used to be.

And to think he was already trying to get rid of me.

I followed them like I was bound with invisible rope, wanting to see what they would do now.

I shivered as the cold wind gushed against me without mercy while I saw my mate carefully wrapping Tiffiany with a scarf after putting his warm jacket around her.

When the skies roared as it thundered dangerously, I stood in the background, beside a tree as Alexander hurriedly took his mistress inside the car, worried that she would get drenched in oncoming rain and suffer.

With the lower car windows, I could see my husband of seven years gently cupping Tiffany's face.

Time and time Tiffiany would look at me as if to signify that my husband was never mine in the first place.

I took out my phone and shakenly dialed my mate’s number.

When I called again he picked up in anger.

“What?! Don’t you have any work to do so why are you always disturbing me?!” He hung up and even blocked my number.

Droplets of water poured from the skies as clouds rumbled when the car drove away leaving me standing on the side pavement getting drenched in freezing rain.

“I give up on a shameless man like you Alexander, from now on there is no relationship between us.

You can have him, Tiffany.”

I gathered up courage and dragged myself to the lawyer’s firm in my drenched clothes making the divorce lawyer feel sympathetic thus she quickly arranged a dress for me to change.

I presented all the evidence I have collected till now to her along with the audio and video which had Alexander explicitly telling Tiffany.

[If she gives birth to a son and agrees that you can be my Luna then I wouldn’t mind keeping her as a mistress.

If she refuses then I will threaten her with our child and throw her out of the pack.]

I winched, heart thrumming painfully when I heard those words.

“Ma’am now that I have everything in front of me, I will make sure that you get rid of Alpha Alexander and live a better life.”

As soon as I exited the firm, I saw my mother calling me.

[Serena, I heard the maid telling me that you had a high fever yesterday?

Did Alexander take you to the hospital?”]

My lips wobbled as I could hardly stop the heart wrenching cry leaving my lips. Hot tears streamed down my face, and I fought to contain my emotions.

"Mom, I-I am better-“

“Don’t lie Serena, your voice is so low and are you really alright?”

“Yes, Yes mom.” I closed my eyes lying so that my mother wouldn’t be worried.

"Alex is here with me, he is buying me hot chocolate.

He even took me for a health checkup and the doctor said that I can go into labor any day now.” My mom sighed.

“It's okay then but frankly speaking I don’t trust Alexander after how irresponsible he was in the past but since you are together it’s okay.”

I took a deep breath as my body shivered with cold.

“Serena, it's raining so hard darling, you better come back soon. I have cooked your favorite food today. “

I did not answer that and hung up so that my mom could not hear me breaking down. There I kneeled on the pavement as my legs lost strength.

I cried because I lost everything at this moment.

All my life turned out to be a lie.

Chapter 4

Alexander called me later that night.

“Serena, I am a little busy so can you please ask the gamma to send you the treaty from the neighboring pack-“ 

I gritted my teeth and refused to hear another word.

“It’s already past midnight and I had a fever yesterday. If you cannot take care of my baby, the least you can do is not try to overwork me to death.”

“W-What?” Alexander who was watching midnight shows with Tiffany in his arms was startled to hear my tone.

“Serena baby, it’s really important for the pack.”

“Then instead of making your pregnant luna do all the work, do it yourself or are you trying to kill my child again like last time?”

“Serena!“ Before Alexander could say another word I hanged up, too tired to let him take advantage of me again.

Unknown to me Alexander was stunned when he realized that I felt that he was the one responsible for my miscarriage earlier.

His face contorted to that of a mix of guilt and regret when he found that I wasn’t picking up his calls either, thus the very next morning I received a bouquet of fresh roses as his ‘apology’ which I discarded in the nearby bin.

I went to the lawyer’s firm that morning and signed the divorce papers readily, even sending a copy to Tiffany's present house- my mansion previously. I was leaving my home of five long years after my marriage when the bell rang.

I opened the door to find Tiffany standing outside with an expensive Gucci around her wrist. When she saw me looking at it, her smile widened.

“Oh, you must have recognized this, it’s the couple watch you bought for Alexander. Sadly, he didn’t want to wear it with you and thus gifted it to me.”

It was a gift my late dad gave to Alexander and I on our third wedding anniversary. Later my husband told me that he ‘accidentally broke my piece and I remember crying for two days for losing my father’s keepsake.

My eyes teared up as I gritted my teeth in anger.

“What do you want?”

Tiffany, having no sense of shame, invited herself in and pouted looking all around the house.

“The decoration is bland just like you Serena, maybe that’s why Alexander needed a change. When I become the luna, I will throw all this garbage and replace it.”

 I smiled calmly. My heart was steady, not a flicker of emotion breaking through.

“Hmm...that’s all you can do, replacing other people and stealing their belongings. I must have known the very first time I saw you.

You were living in my mansion, flirting with my husband and now even going around shamelessly flaunting my watch…what’s next? Are you pretending to be pregnant?”

Tiffany went pale at that before glaring at me angrily.

“So, what if it was all yours?! Now it all belongs to me! And my child would be the next alpha unlike yours who would be abandoned by his father!”

“Really? Do you think a selfish and arrogant man like Alexander would discard the future heir for a woman? And by the way you can have that unreliable, scheming man for yourself.”

“I was the luna selected by Alexander’s father because he found his son to be too incompetent.

All these years it was I who managed the affairs of the pack. With both your and Alexander’s personality the pack will soon go down the drain, so I am not acting, you truly deserve one another.”

“While you were sleeping around with Alexander, who do you think took after the families who suffered from the Rival Wolf Pack attack?

Who was the person that deployed warrior guards and monitored the neighboring packs being afraid that we would be attacked? When I am gone, you will have to do it all alone just like me.”

Alexander had promised Tiffiany that she wouldn’t suffer a loss yet upon knowing that all the responsibilities would be shouldered by her alone she gritted her teeth in frustration.

“I would rather free myself from parasites like you instead of ruining my life.”

My hands rested on my belly as I caressed my child through it before getting up to leave.

“What are you plotting now? Don’t think that I will fall for your innocent façade even for a moment.” Tiffany was restless when things did not go the way she wanted.

She lurched forward and caught hold of my hair.

“You dare plot against me ! Tell me the truth, what did you say to Alexander yesterday that he left me alone at night?!” I resisted only to be pushed by her roughly.

My eyes widened when I fell with a thud and red tainted my vision, blood poured from in between my legs.

I looked at the heinous woman infront of me who had a horrified expression as she fled while I clutched my stomach and wept painfully.

“Someone, save my baby please! Help! Help me!” I roared in agony, tears streaming down my face as I dialed Alexander’s number.

I was terrified and did not think of my hatred when he picked up on the first ring. For the sake of my child, I would even beg him to come.

“Alex-“

“Last night you threw a lot of tantrums and did not attend the meeting so stop bothering when I am doing it myself!” He did not let me speak a word and hung up.

“Luna! Oh my god” I was almost unconscious when I heard a pack member rushing to help me.

“Get the doctor and call the Alpha! quickly!” I didn’t hear a word after that as I was on the verge of passing out with pain.

“Luna, you have to stay awake!”

Before I could respond, the darkness pulled me away and I slipped into unconsciousness.

‘If I lose this child, I’ll reject Alexander as mate.’ I swore bitterly to myself, just before the darkness claimed me fully.
